Mojo (Ankit Roy)
Mojo has been in Indian hip-hop since before it had a mainstream. He started as the English-language rapper of Desi Beam, one of the oldest desi hip-hop crews, formed in Chandigarh in 2008, and later moved into Punjabi rap. Desi Beam's tracks made it to MTV Indies, and Mojo alongwith his crew has opened shows for Bohemia and Juggy D.
Away from the mic, he trained in animation and design and co-founded Brand Th3ory, a creative marketing agency. That eye for detail is what he brings to how SHOEGR looks, sounds and teaches.
Sneakers came with the culture, and so did the damage. Before SHOEGR, Mojo lost pairs to poor cleaning and bad shoe laundries. That frustration is part of why he co-founded SHOEGR in 2021 with Saurabh Gupta and Anuj Sachdeva: to make shoe care built for Indian roads, dust and monsoons.
Today he owns 18 pairs, and his favourite is the Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble. He hosts SHOEGR Care Academy on YouTube, where every method is tested on real pairs before it reaches a guide. To the SHOEGR community, he's SHOEGR Daddy.
"Sneakers are a lifestyle. I built a brand around it."
